Emmi-dent ultrasonic toothbrushes clean without mechanical movements. The patented piezo-ceramic disc (ultrasonic transducer) is located in the brush head of the emmi-dent ultrasonic toothbrush. In the intelligent brush head, electrical energy is converted into ultrasonic waves, which are transmitted to the teeth and gums via the bristles, with the help of special ultrasonic toothpastes and saliva. The ultrasonic transducer is made to vibrate (up to 96 million multi-frequency vibrations). These ultrasonic waves destroy the structure of the micro-bubbles enriched in the toothpaste, they collapse and create a suction effect. This suction effect removes biofilm and plaque. The standard process of brushing teeth.

The ultrasound is neither audible nor perceptible. Nevertheless, in conjunction with a special ultrasonic toothpaste, it generates millions of tiny micro-bubbles. Thanks to their small size, these penetrate even the smallest interdental spaces, where they collapse and create a suction effect. This dissolves impurities such as biofilm and plaque. The vibrations of the ultrasonic toothbrush transport the dissolved dirt out of the gaps. You then simply rinse it out. The result is healthy, sustainably cleaned and smooth teeth.

Electric toothbrushes include both oscillating-rotating toothbrushes, sonic toothbrushes, and ultrasonic toothbrushes. While the former usually have round brushes that rotate alternately from left to right, sonic toothbrushes are equipped with elongated, vibrating heads. With 20,000 to 40,000 oscillations per minute, they achieve significantly higher mechanical movements than oscillating-rotating brushes. Ultrasonic toothbrushes far exceed this performance and are
also a completely different technology. While oscillating-rotating and sonic toothbrushes remove biofilm with the help of mechanical movements, the emmi-dent works with up to 96 million ultrasonic oscillations per minute and requires no mechanical movements for tooth cleaning. Motionless tooth cleaning thanks to state-of-the-art ultrasonic technology.

Thus, the decisive difference lies in the type of tooth cleaning: Just like
manual toothbrushes, oscillating-rotating and sonic toothbrushes also clean teeth mechanically. This so-called macro cleaning carries a risk of injuries to gums and tooth enamel if the toothbrush is used improperly. Additionally, ultrasound is able to minimize inflammation. This is confirmed by our study.

Dental care is limited to the areas in the mouth that the oscillating-rotating or sonic toothbrush reaches. In contrast to conventional electric toothbrushes, the ultrasonic toothbrush works completely without pressure by transmitting vibrations. This ensures comprehensive cleaning of the entire oral cavity.

Our emmi-dent ultrasonic toothbrushes are generally suitable for all people who want to gently clean their teeth and, above all, eliminate the risk of "scrubbing away" tooth enamel. Particularly suitable for people with sensitive gums, gingivitis and periodontitis, brace wearers, implant and bridge wearers, we offer ultrasonic toothbrushes for every age. Our range includes various brush heads, including an attachment for children and people with small mouths. This makes dental care playfully easy for the youngest.

Older people and individuals with motor challenges also benefit from the simple operation of the ultrasonic toothbrush. The emmi-dent Platinum Care is recommended here. Awarded the EURECERT certificate! The world's first barrier-free certified toothbrush.

The ultrasonic toothbrush also helps with bad breath by reducing bacteria to a healthy level.

We have developed a special brush head for brace wearers. The ultrasonic vibrations thoroughly clean even the inaccessible areas between teeth and braces. People with dental implants also benefit from the maximum cleaning performance of the innovative ultrasonic technology.

In professional dental cleaning at the dentist, ultrasound technology has proven its worth. A "hard" ultrasound is used, which has a low frequency and high power. Dentists have been successfully using this method for many years to remove tartar and other impurities. The ultrasonic toothbrush also allows the daily use of ultrasound technology at home. The innovative emmi-dent uses "soft" ultrasound with high frequency and low power.

Professional daily dental care for everyone and everywhere – this is welcomed by dentists such as Dr. Dr. Roland Streckbein, head of the Institute for Dental Implantology (IZI) in Limburg an der Lahn, who describes ultrasound as the "non plus ultra of efficient and modern dental cleaning."

Dr. Annick Urfels - Pediatric Dentist/University of Liège: "Therefore, it is advantageous that emmi-dent cleans our teeth of biofilm and plaque without 'scrubbing,' because its simple application shows that teeth feel smoother, and after about 2 weeks, there is no more gum bleeding."

Dr. Alexander May - Dentist: "The emmi-dent leads to a significant reduction in gum inflammation and completely prevents abrasive brushing movements. This eliminates the risk of abrasion damage to teeth and gums."

With the emmi-dent ultrasonic toothbrush, you can combat periodontitis, gingivitis, and canker sores. Its effectiveness has been proven by various studies. By brushing your teeth twice a day, you significantly reduce the number of bacteria in your mouth. As an added benefit, this also ensures long-lasting fresh breath. The simple application of the ultrasonic toothbrush is also particularly well-suited for children and people with motor challenges. Wearers of braces, bridges, implants, or crowns can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as the ultrasonic method reliably cleans even the smallest gaps. In addition, this toothbrush, in combination with a special ultrasonic toothpaste, gradually restores the natural color of your teeth. Minor discolorations caused by coffee, tea, wine, or nicotine are removed, and you regain your white smile.

The gentle micro-cleaning of the ultrasonic toothbrush revolutionizes tooth brushing. The almost touch-free ultrasonic technology prevents the application of too much pressure. Ultrasonic dental care completely eliminates strenuous back-and-forth brushing. "Brush your teeth without scrubbing" is the motto here!

Despite its gentle functionality, the emmi-dent ultrasonic toothbrush cleans even hard-to-reach areas in the mouth. Bacterial plaque is removed even from the smallest interdental spaces. But that's not all: the emmi-dent convinces with further advantages. Ultrasound reduces bacteria up to twelve millimeters deep in the tissue, promotes blood circulation in the oral mucosa, and releases body energies.

Furthermore, ultrasound has a cosmetic effect: discolorations caused by wine, nicotine, or certain foods are gradually lightened – and in a particularly gentle way. You can intensify this effect by additionally using emmi-dent Whitening ultrasonic toothpaste. Please note that you should never use whitening toothpastes exclusively. We recommend using whitening toothpastes 2-3 times a week as an additional toothpaste. This applies to all whitening toothpastes.

The specific functionality of the ultrasonic toothbrush influences its use. Conventional toothbrushes are moved across the teeth and are always in contact with them. Our sophisticated ultrasonic technology works almost contact-free. Simply guide the brush head gently over your teeth. In addition to the ultrasonic toothbrush, you should use a special ultrasonic toothpaste. 75 milliliters are sufficient for approximately four weeks of use.

The bristles of the emmi-dent usually cover two to three teeth. After a short pause – usually six seconds are enough – move the ultrasonic toothbrush to the next teeth. With all emmi-dent models (except emmi-dent Platinum Care - which operates completely silently and without vibration), you receive haptic and acoustic signals to move to the next tooth/teeth. Repeat this process until all teeth are clean. For heavy soiling or discoloration, a longer cleaning time is recommended. As with all other toothbrushes, brushing your teeth should take at least three minutes. After the cleaning process, it is recommended to wipe away the loosened dirt from the gums, from the teeth, and rinse with water.

The ultrasonic toothbrush is ideal for wearers of braces and implants. It cleans without mechanical movements and scrubbing, effectively cleaning even hard-to-reach areas. If you would like to learn more, please read our detailed article on cleaning braces, brackets and implants.

The emmi-dent Slim has a stated battery life of 14 days. The practical charge indicator always keeps you informed about the current battery level.

The specially developed ultrasonic toothpaste additionally enhances the cleaning effect. It contains micro-bubbles, which are activated by ultrasonic waves and create a suction effect. This loosens plaque and bacteria even in hard-to-reach areas. We recommend using ultrasonic toothpaste for optimal cleaning results.
